Visiting Burj Khalifa

While here in Dubai, Ian and I went to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, measuring 829.8 m (2,722 ft). It is absolutely amazing and one should not visit Dubai without having the experience of the ascent, the view, and the state of the art sights and sounds on the way up to the top.

We enjoyed a 60 second lift off to the 148th floor in an elevator that projected images of the tallest buildings around the world as we passed over them.

Flower of Life

It was in the elevator that I noticed the Burj Khalifa’s logo on our guide’s vest. It resembled the “Flower of Life” symbol. I have studied this symbol in the past. It depicts the sacred geometry of which all things stem from in the Universe. In the Burj Khalifa Tower, this symbol is depicted on the presentation panels and built into the walls, and the architecture. Our guide mentioned the tower was built to resemble an indigenous desert flower which will make sense if you research the “Flower of Life” symbol but I have no doubt that the designer, Adrien Smith studied it too.

The Flower of Life symbol has been found engraved all around the world on ancient structures, sacred sites and even penned by Leonardo De Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus. I was happily surprised to find it is the prominent foundation for the world’s newest, tallest tower.

It made me think of the saying,“nothing is new under the sun.” So, the Flower of Life blooms again on the tallest building in the world here in Dubai. The building is sensational and it is amazing what can bloom in this world because the foundation is already there and inside us all.
